Hydraulic Physical Modeling - Fall/Spring 2020 Cooperative Education

This is an opportunity to come work a semester for the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center! We are one of the world's premier research facilities and our mission is to deliver solutions to our Nation's most challenging coastal and hydraulics problems through research, development, and application of cutting-edge science, engineering, and technology. We discover, develop, and deliver coastal and hydraulics science and engineering to make the world safer and better every day.

We are looking for engineering students that have experience or interest in assisting with the design, construction, and application of coastal and riverine hydraulic physical models to solve complex hydraulic and sediment issues.

Duties include:
  • Creation of detailed design drawings of models for construction
  • Development of an understanding of the physical model construction process
  • Collection and analysis of data using the latest instrumentation and measurement techniques
  • Production and understanding of model results.

This position requires the ability to make quick decisions in the laboratory/field in outside elements, and excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
