Manufacturing / Fabrication Estimator
Entry level position for estimator to support a well established custom / engineer-to-order manufacturing company focused on composite equipment. Interface with all parts of the organization including engineering, production, sales, project management and finance.
After on-the-job training, the responsibilities of the position include:
- Review and analyze manufacturing specifications and drawings to provide accurate take-offs for projects.
- Estimate shop labor, materials, third party buyout costs and other related equipment costs necessary to provide an accurate estimate of the fabricated equipment cost.
- Identify exceptions and clarifications to customer request for quotation documents and/or other bid documents.
- Work with scheduling manager to determine an accurate fabrication time frame.
- Generate and document a total estimate of timing and costs for fabricated equipment, including necessary alternatives to base bids.
- Identify improvements and implement changes to the pricing models with management approval.
- Assists sales team in Bid/No Bid decisions.
- Participate in estimate reviews with management / production.
- Provide estimates for change orders on existing projects.
- Develop expert knowledge of industry related specifications and fiberglass fabrication methods.
- Meets deadlines for generating estimates.
- Works with cross functional teams.
